The meaning of life ain’t about skipping through life thinking everything is amazing and pretending that everything is wonderful.

 

Every single person has a tough time and dark moments at some point.

And this global pandemic has highlighted the weakness of people’s external supports like family, the gym, holidays etc.

In my 20 years of personal development and working with 100s of people, the pattern is the same.

Those that develop inner strength and self-reliance and resilience move forward quicker and are able to overcome their internal and external obstacles.

The trick is to understand that the negativity and sorrow that we experience in difficult times are actually clues and warning lights trying to show us what area of ourselves that we need to work on.

Like when the oil lamp flashes on your car dashboard you know the car needs oil.

When you are sad you need to develop inner happiness.

When you are angry you need to develop inner peace.

When you are full of hate you need to develop a love for yourself first.

I’ve been using this inside out philosophy for myself for 20 years now.

And I’ve gone from a crazy drug-taking angry and frustrated hooligan to something closer to where I want to be.

I’m now able to help others untangle themselves and develop a life strategy so they too can learn from their darkness and move forward.

And it works.

Yeah takes work and effort but powerful and positive results are achieved.

So my understanding of the meaning of life is to learn about myself and grow.

I learn what is positive and strengthen it.

I learn what is negative and destroy it.

Using this way of doing things I’m able to stabilise myself in a position of strength so I can help those around me.

So the next time you feel low, frustrated, sad, angry, etc go for walk get your thoughts on to paper and start looking for the clues that’ll help you change.

Then create small simple steps to begin with and take the action.

Please don’t despair and allow yourself to spiral into your darkness.

You are strong enough you just need to dig deep and be kinder to yourself.
