I know when I was younger, I used to think that freedom was doing what I wanted when I wanted, how I wanted, but all it did was just lead to chaos.

And since then, I’ve really learned that structure, equals freedom.

And the reason behind this is is because it’s having a better understanding of what freedom is.

For me, freedom is a reduced amount of thoughts.

Freedom is the freedom inside your own mind, it’s not just about the freedom to go where you want and do what you want.

Freedom can exist when we’re doing stuff we don’t want to do – If we are managing and controlling our thoughts.

Structure equals freedom because I don’t have to think as much.

We spend too much time thinking about what we’ve got to do, rather than just actually being.

And then there’s a level beyond being, or a sidestep from being, which is creative and strategic thinking.

We get our mind so locked into what we’ve got to do and how little time we’ve got to do it in that we’re just running from action to action to action.

We’re just putting out fires the whole time, rather than looking at the source of the fire, and sorting that out.

So if we’re just running from action to action we are not experiencing freedom.

However, if you structure your week you can begin the journey to creating space and freedom in your mind.

The best way I work with one to one clients is, you pick a start time, when you’re going to start work and you create a finish time. For example, 9 am and 5 pm…

Then you add lunchtime.

Now you’ve got your morning session and your afternoon session.

Then break your morning session into 1-hour chunks for example.

And you tell yourself right I’m going to do 50 minutes focussed work, and then I’ll have a 10-minute break.

And then you go again and again until lunch.

Then the same after lunch.

The key to this working is that you decide what it is that you’re going to do before that day and get it into your schedule.

So what you end up with is three to four-hour slots before lunch and then three or four-hour slots after lunch.

And then, in those slots are the tasks that you’re going to carry out.

So when you hit those times of when those slots start you don’t need to ask yourself “right, well then, what is it I’m doing?”

You know what it is that you’re going to do, so you can just dive in and start doing it.

This is going to lead to greater output.

It’s going to give you a lot more results.

And it’s going to reduce the inner chatter inside your head, which is going to reduce your thinking, which is going to create more space, which is going to enable you to experience more freedom, give it a go and let me know what you think.

Keep smiling and speak anon
